Constantijn & Christiaan Huygens

Some 350 years ago, the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands was the most powerful state in the world with the strongest fleet and a thriving trade in all corners of the world. Constantijn (1596-1687) was a poet and diplomat. He was one of the architects of the growth and prosperity of the Republic. His brilliant son Christiaan (1629-1695) developed into a great scientist, versed in mathematics, physics and astronomy.
