World champion skier Gregor, whose family emigrated from Russia to France and who grew up in France, is researching his family roots in remote Scotland. Heroine Victoria turns up at the same house where Gregor is staying. It's her uncle's house you see - and Gregor is right to think there's a family connection as he and Victoria are descendants of a Scottish girl who ran away to live in Russia with her Russian lover. The uncle is in hospital for a few days. So Gregor is alone in the mansion when Victoria shows up. They get snowed in the next day, and the forced isolation and intimacy plays havoc with their strong attraction to each other....
