<p><strong>Peter Case</strong>, the legendary folk-rocker, whose bands <strong>The Nerves</strong> and <strong>The Plimsouls</strong> helped define the West Coast punk and alternative rock scenes, and whose solo work ushered in the Americana music phenomenon, is documenting his trailblazing story in a full-length memoir. The first portion of the book is the first <strong>FOR NOW </strong> publication: <em><strong>As Far As You Can Get Without a Passport</strong></em>.</p> <p><em><strong>As Far As You Can Get Without a Passport</strong></em> covers Case's very early days from the time he left his native upstate New York and wound up singing and playing on the streets of San Francisco. This period inspired some of his most memorable songs, including <em>Entella Hotel</em> and <em>Travellin' Light.</em> Now it has inspired a great new book.</p> <p><strong>John Doe</strong>, co-leader of the Los Angeles punk band <strong>X</strong>, has contributed an introduction to the new book.</p>
