Pays tribute to prominent Mesoamerican archaeologist (1938-2010) known for his work in Belize, Ontario and Mexico. In addition to profiling Charlton and highlighting his many contributions to archaeological methods and sources, contributors apply and develop some of his lines of research: chronological placement of black-and-orange Aztec pottery, preparation of food before and after Spanish conquest in central Mexico, sacred sites of Chiapas lowlands from post-classic age, and others.
