This textbook is an introduction to the "big" (Catholic) Christian canon of the Old Testament: The "Old Testament" as Scripture of the Jews and the Christians; The books of the Torah / Pentateuch; The books of history; The books of wisdom; The books of prophecy. The origin of the individual books is so arranged in their time and religious historical context that this will be visible as a precipitate for the faith history of Israel. It is reflected explicitly in the double character of the Old Testament as the Bible of the Jews and Christians. Thus, the present relevance of the Old Testament is presented. (Publisher).
