Account of events stemming from the appointment, in October 1806, of Richard Champneys Soane to the office of sexton of the Frome parish church, by Thomas Swymmer Champneys of the manor of Orchardleigh. Soanes' appointment was contested by the vicar, Rev. William Ireland, and members of the vestry committee. The case, Soane v. Ireland, was heard in King's Bench. --cf. 10 East 259.
