An overview of activities in the area of inter-firm cooperation

"Parts I and II of this paper provide a brief overview of existing research on clustering, networking and technology partnerships. This review illustrates the lack of analytical and policy oriented work on inter-firm cooperation involving firms from developing countries and the limited attention paid to the needs of the enterprise sector in developing countries and to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Part III endeavours to synthesize some policy issues related to the promotion of inter-firm cooperation as a means fostering the development and competitiveness of enterprise. It also identifies a number of other issues for further exploration and action."--Preface.
