Rock art made in translation

Showcases the varying ways in which South African landscapes have been 'translated' or transformed via rock art. Includes the works of copyists from the mid-19th to early 20th centuries, including works by George Stow, Helen Tongue, Dorothea Bleek, and Charles Schunke. Also includes essays, historical and contemporary photographs, and translations of San texts and stories.
