Nonlinear pulsations and hydrodynamics of cepheids
Nonlinear pulsations and hydrodynamics of cepheids
About this book
"Robert Buchler has largely contributed to the theoretical modelling and understanding of the Cepheid pulsations. The first part of this conference (the first three days of the meeting) was dedicated to the presentation and discussion of recent results obtained in this field, in large part based on contributions from the past or present collaborators of Robert. The last two days were devoted to the second edition of the Cassini project workshop. The goal of this project is to develop the interaction between theoreticians modelling Cepheids and observers in order to explain the pulsational behavior of these stars as observed by interferometry and spectroscopy. These proceedings therefore cover a broad range of theoretical topics, numerical modeling and observational results on Cepheids, with an emphasis on the current 'hot topics'. They are addressed to researchers and graduate students."--Back cover.
