The book is in six volumes, and is a compilation of plays and entertainments performed by The Italian Comedians whilst Gheradi , a notable interpreter of the role of Harlequin,performed in the company. It contains commedia dell'arte scripts, several written by Regnard(as well as several other minor French playwrights of the period), as well as some sheet music,but the standard and authorship of the scripts is widely diffuse and of variable artistic quality.
