In missionary matters, the importance of Anthony Norris Groves cannot be underestimated. Groves played a primary role in re-establishing the practice of the apostles after centuries of departure and carried the gospel as the Lord commanded. He may rightly be regarded as the vanguard and catalyst of all the subsequent missionary endeavors of the Plymouth Brethren.
