Communication and community

The concepts of 'community' and 'communication' are reflected across a range of disciplines - in which they are commonly considered separately. The key feature of this collection is that it treats these main themes and their many ramifications from a committed interdisciplinary perspective, thereby highlighting their intrinsic connections. Concerned as it is with both theoretical and practical issues, this volume will press everyone interested in social and political theory, literature, language and media to re-examine their shared interests, and to confront the implications of new orthodoxies in and for contemporary thought.
