Possessing nature

Possessing nature

Karla Jasso

About this book

Documents the work "Possessing Nature: El mapa anfibío del canal del arte", shown in the Mexican Pavilion at the 56. Biennale di Venezia (Venice, 2015). The installation of artists Tania Candiani (Mexico City 1974) and Luis Felipe Ortega (Mexico City 1966) curated by Karla Jasso, has a strong visual impact and at the same time is an articulated research cross between history and politics. For these two aspects is perfectly in line with the spirit of the Biennale "All The World's Futures". The line that draws the zigzagging iron wall and the water are taken from the map of the location of streets and canals joining sites that have hosted previous biennials of Mexico National Pavilion, before landing this year in the arsenal gallery "Sala d'Armi".
