Dial M for Murdoch looks at the newspaper empire of Rupert Murdoch and how in 2005 the unexpected discovery a private investigator hacking the voicemails of the British Royal family ultimately led to the closure of the UK's biggest Sunday newspaper, a public inquiry into the UK press and criminal charges against reporters, editors, public servants and the press secretary of a Prime Minister. Along the way it shows lives that were ruined, laws that were broken and how News International used it's power to make Murdoch one of the most powerful men in publishing.
