Stories involving the actions of UK forces in the Syrian conflict rarely make it into the corporate media. Some, like this one, are probably considered too parochial, a minor local incident when measured against the main event of the battle for Aleppo. Besides, editors would argue, to appreciate the significance of a piece about the tussle for control of a village bakery requires more background information than they have time or space for.
