Iberoamérica y España antes de las independencias, 1700-1820

Comparisons and perspectives on economic and fiscal histories of Spain and various regions of Iberian colonies (Mexico, Peru, Nueva Granada- Colombia, Cuba, Rio de la Plata and Brazil) over century preceding independence movements in those regions. Focuses especially on enlightenment reforms (Bourbon reforms in Spanish realms, Pombaline reforms in Portugal) and relates economic performance to frequent wars that afflicted much of Atlantic world in late 18th and early 19th centuries.
