When Salmon Sal Russo fails to make his friday fish round at the San Francisco law courts, alarm bells ring with his regular customers - the prosecutors and judges who turn a blind eye to his illegally caught fish. Russo had been in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, and when Judge Giotto, an old friend, finds the body, it looks like a case of mercy killing. But a look at Russo's bank balance point them in a different direction.
