Essays about life and work of Mexico's "tenth muse," 17th-century poet and philosopher Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz (1648-1695). Explores many facets of her writings, her personality, her influence in Mexican literature, and her reception by other scholars and critics. Most of these texts were published previously in literary supplement to Torreón, Coahuila daily El Siglo over past 10 years.
