A history of the Fussell family of Mells in Somerset (England) - edge tool makers, mine owners, churchmen and gentleman and of the ironworks of Mells, Nunney and other villages from c 1744 to 1895. In rural Somerset there was a dynasty of toolmakers whose products rivalled those from the industrial factories of the Midlands, until final closure and takeover by Nash of Belbroughton in Worcestershire.... such was their renown, the trade name of Fussell survived in tools made by Spear and Jackson, successors to Nash and others, well into 20th century and is still a registered trademark in the 21st ..
