The western sublime

"Western Sublime: Majestic Landscapes of the American West focuses on how artists adopt or deconstruct the centuries-old definition of the sublime in landscape images of the American West. Throughout the exhibition, the poetry of Ofelia Zepeda, respected Tohono O'odham linguist, conveys powerful messages about the environment and Tohono O'odham culture. Together, the combination of art and poetry is infinitely connected, bringing new understandings and deeper meanings to the lands of the West and the southern Arizona region.
