Bearing witness (to AIDS)

This book is the culmination of a ten year project by photographer Thomas McGovern on the AIDS crisis. Consisting of portraits and interviews with a wide range of people with HIV/AIDS, as well as photographs of health care, demonstrations, memorials and funerals, this book is much more than journalistic -- it combines the personal, the historical, and the artistic into a compelling narrative of AIDS.
