Waging war against the new terrorism

Examines today's terrorism, in which negotiation plays no part and mass destruction is the goal. Anchor Ted Koppel interviews two authorities on the new terrorism: military historian Caleb Carr and Paul Bremer, ambassador-at-large for counterterrorism during the Reagan administration. They discuss the evolution of international terrorism and new strategies and tactics being employed by the U.S. to contain and dismantle violent extremist organizations such as al Qaeda.
