Teaching Basic Literacy : What You Need to Know That They Forgot to Teach You

The increasing failure of our public schools to teach fundamental literacy has been repeatedly documented. This book addresses the fact that more and more children and teens require remedial teaching in order to be functionally literate in our society and it outlines the essentials needed to be a literate adult. The first three chapters confine themselves to the necessary academic skills. The fourth chapter of the book addresses the Computer literacy skills that are a practical neccessity in the 21st century. This small book is an attempt to catch the growing number of children and teens who are slipping through the widening academic cracks in our public school system.
