Bishop Samuel Waldegrave and his dealings with his clergy and others figures prominently in the text, covering in particular parish work and punishments for offending clergy, how these were dealt with, and clergy at Oxford and Cambridge colleges. Detrailed research on the courts of the time and howthey operated at diocesan level.
