Museu de Arte de Sao Paulo

This annual publication of the Pirelli Photographic Collection of the Museum of Art of Sao Paulo presents 70 works by 18 artists from Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Bahia and Pará, along with American photographer George Leary Love, who lived in Sao Paulo from the 1960's to the 1990's. This edition prioritizes the authorial side of advertising photographers, photojournalists and one cineaste. Names include Alberto Bitar, Octvio Cardoso, Mariano Klautau Filho, Alexandre Sequeira and Guy Veloso (selected photographer for the 29 Bienal de Sao Paulo with his documentary series "Penitentes"), Anizio Carvalho, Ida Marques, Bauer S and the late Maria Sampaio who died in June of 2010. This edition pays homage to two photographers: Luiz Sadaki Hossaka (b. Brazil 1928-2009) and George Leary Love (b. United States 1937- d. Sao Paulo 1995).
