About the Author Joy Johnson is over 70 now. With her husband, Dr. Marvin Johnson, she co-founded the Centering Corporation, North America's oldest and largest bereavement resource center and Ted E Bear Hollow, Omaha's center for grieving children. She is a nationally-known speaker and has written or edited over 100 books on grief, mostly for children. The Johnsons are a blended family with six children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. For years now Bernese Mountain Dogs have been their colleagues and companions in work and play.
