Lorenzo Dow
Lorenzo Dow
About this book
In this short article from the Journal of Negro History, Brawley writes about Lorenzo Dow (1777-1834), a white itinerant preacher who traveled through the South in the early nineteenth century. An abolitionist, Dow was barred from the Methodist Church because of his independent nature and disregard for the Church establishment.
