Glass in Byzantium

From the Balkans to Egypt, from Asia Minor and North Africa to the Middle East, producted of Byzantine glassworks may be found. The glassware trade of Byzantium was not an economic enterprise to be underestimated. Forms of glassware specific to certain regions and raw materials allow connections to the places of manufacture and to the trade routes that the fragile product traveled.
