The Terragni atlas

The Terragni atlas

Attilio Alberto Terragni, Paolo Rosselli, Daniel Libeskind

About this book

"Published on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Giuseppe Terragni, this 'Atlas' is a new and original volume presenting sixteen works built by the Como-born architect between 1925 and 1941, with previously unpublished photos, original writings and polemical articles by Terragni himself dealing with the reasoning and fundamental themes underlying his work. For the first time, this volume allows readers to conduct a direct analysis of the masterpieces built by Giuseppe Terragni and to reasses the significance of his oeuvre. Starting out with a comparison of oroginal images and contemporary photographs, the 'Atlas' is organised on three levels given that the works of Giuseppe Terragni simultaneously occupy different worlds and express different aspirations: the first level for the contemporary texts, the second for the photographs and the third for the original texts, thus bringing together in a single volume contemporaneity, simultaneity and historical documentation"--p. 17.
