The Mother Tongue

This book is designed to give grammar school students (grades 1 through 6) an intelligent appreciation and enjoyment of good English so that they speak and write correctly. The book introduces them to grammar, but not in a comprehensive or definitive way. The book is divided into sections, which each section providing a brief lesson in composition, grammar, or language.
