Growing apart

If we rank our regions, they look very different. Kawerau looks more like emerging economies Hungary or Argentina. Orakei looks like Switzerland or Canada.New Zealand is a small place, but its regions are not the same. Shamubeel Eaqub highlights the changing economic fortunes of people in different parts of New Zealand - the growing wedge between our regions. It is time for a rethink - a considered and coherent set of policies that will transcend political partisanship and regional envy, grounded on the common goal of a more prosperous and equitable New Zealand.
