Narkopolis, Catacaméra

Narkopolis, Catacaméra

Alain Jouffroy

About this book

Text by Alain Jouffroy on the imaginary utopian city of Narkopolis, situated on the border of Mexico and Guatemala, its construction based on architectural and urban logic, including the founding of the city's center on the banks of a river, its gradual outward expansion in concentric circles, an Old Town situated behind fortifications, and the logical placement of buildings and monuments, followed by six original lithographs by Jean Criton depicting abstract and surrealist architecture, each signed and numbered in pencil by the artist, three vellum sheets with annotated early sketches of the artwork displayed in the lithographs, and a folding map of Narkopolis with the sites depicted in the lithographs marked in red.
