International year of astronomy 2009

On 20 December 2007 the United Nations declared that 2009 was the International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009). The International Astronomical Union and UNESCO are the initiators and international leaders of IYA2009. This brochure tells us about IYA2009 activities and programs which will take place locally, nationally, regionally and internationally.
