Castellum Fectio, Fort bij Vechten, Waterliniemuseum

Onder de rook van Utrecht, verscholen in het Kromme Rijngebied tussen Amelisweerd en het Houtense Bos ligt 2000 jaar militaire geschiedenis. Op deze strategische plek bij Bunnik kruisen de Romeinse Limes en de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie elkaar en liggen twee indrukwekkende forten: het castellum Fectio en het Fort bij Vechten. De contouren van het grote Romeinse ruiterfort Fectio zijn op bijzondere wijze geaccentueerd en in het frontbastion op het Fort bij Vechten is het Waterliniemuseum gevestigd rondom een grote waterliniemaquette.
