A History of Joseph Holt1984

Biography of Joseph Holt (1813-1888), who married Catherine Parry in 1849, and lived in Manchester, England. He was a notable brewer, and eventually owned various public houses and inns. His son, Edward (ca.1850-1928), continued the family business, and greatly expanded the ownership of hotels and inns. Edward was active in local politics, was well known for his charitable works, and was knighted. His son succeeded him as chairman of the company, and became the second Baronet.
