The dataset is primarily for teaching purposes, although it may be used to explore the usefulness of alternative modes of analysis or to test alternative hypotheses. The data were drawn from an interview sample survey conducted at the time of the 1964 Riksdag election in Sweden. The study ascertains the voting behavior of a representative sample of enfranchised population of Sweden under the age of 81 in 1964. Included among the information was the respondent's socio-economic strata, educational level, occupation, social mobility, membership in labor unions, frequency of church attendance, as well as sex, age, and marital status.
