La storia (quasi vera) del milite ignoto

Straddling the divide between history and literature and drawing on a myriad of documents from the period 1914-18, the author reconstructs the imaginary biography of a soldier who died in the Great War and was never identified. Piecing together the fragments of a life scattered in an endless amount of letters, autobiographies and official reports collected in years of research, the historian produces a plausible narrative accounting for the representaive life of a soldier fighting through all the stages of the Great War in Italy.
