Karl Hagemeister

As an early protagonist of Impressionism, Karl Hagemeister was a pioneer of modern landscape painting in Germany. Although he maintained contact with many artists throughout his life, he always remained a bit of an outsider, drawing inspiration from a world that remained closed to most of his contemporaries.
