About this book
This volume contains three short essays on the Odyssey that propose and develop, step by step, a unified and original interpretation of this work in which memory and forgetfulness, linear and cyclical time form the background to the journey of Odysseus. This reading of the Odyssey is interwoven with continuous brief reflections on the nature and the function of the imagination, and because of this these three essays are also in their own way three contributions to a philosophy of imagination. Page after page, in an atmosphere of amused complicity, the reader is called to continue the imaginative game of the Odyssey, to reflect on its rules, and to reclaim the right to read the classics freely.
