Spanning the turbulent years 1919 to 1945, this vivid and moving saga of love and war - by France's most celebrated actress - tells the story of two Jewish families who have fled persecution to settle in Paris shortly after the Russian Revolution. They work in the garment industry as furriers, speak Yiddish, and have nightmares, but are determined to forget the past and build a new life for their children.
