Warwickshire Anglo-Saxon charter bounds

A presentation of all the topographical detail in the Anglo-Saxon Warwickshire charters, especially that in associated boundary clauses, all freshly transcribed from surviving documents. Each boundary clause is individually mapped, and the charter's landmarks are located as closely as possible, showing details of the Anglo-Saxon countryside. Regional variation within the county becomes apparent, ranging from the pastoral and well-wooded Arden to the more heavily cultivated Feldon; Old English terminology is related to identifiable features; territorial organisation related to accurate locations of estates and boundaries; evolution of land ownership and estate organisation within an older territorial regional framework.
