About this book
The major aim of the study was to find out how the American people feel about various aspects of automobile insurance and why they feel as they do. The investigation ascertained the number of automobile accidents in which people had been involved and the number of claims filed and settlements received. Respondents were asked about their experience with automobile insurance with regard to these accidents, claims, and settlements. In addition, data were collected on policy cancellations and other difficulties that were encountered in renewal of policies. The study is based upon a representative sample of dwelling units with the head of the family unit designated as the preferred respondent.
