The exhibition represented in this catalogue is the broadest retrospective survey so far of Robert Barry's early work from the period 1963 to 1975. The works created by this important protagonist of American conceptual art during this period have proved themselves an aesthetic and formal foundation that continues to underpin contemporary notions of art.
