When Treva Jordan inherits her beloved aunt's house in Bristol, Rhode Island, it becomes her summer project. Treva plans to sell the place, but when a fire erupts the first night, followed by other mysterious incidents, she wonders if someone is trying to frighten her into leaving. Tank LaFrenz has been asking God to send him the right woman. When he turns up at the fire at the old Gunther place and sees the young woman he'd met at his friend's wedding, he wonders if she could be the one. But how can he convince her he's not trying to harm her? Can this Fourth of July be the start of independence from the past?
