The plot to kill Hitler. In July 1944 Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, a trusted junior officer of the Nazi home army, entered Hitler's high security headquarters to kill Hitler. The bomb exploded, but did not kill Hitler.
Revolution in Paris. On July 14th, 1789 the starving and destitute people of Paris rioted in search of food and weapons. The people stormed the Bastille, determined to liberate the prisoners and seize its weapons. The people of France learn through violent struggle they might realize their dream of a people's republic.
