Mass leisure

This book, a companion volume to Mass Culture previously published by the Free Press, is primarily concerned with leisure as a social phenomenon in the modern world, especially in America -- with, if you like, leisure as a problem. It contains forty articles written by philosophers, journalists, and social scientists, plus a reproduction of the definition of leisure from the Oxford English Dictionary and a 28-page bibliography of scholarly materials published (in English) on the subject since 1900.
