Susan Doyle stops Lord Desmond Ryder on the road and begs for his help. Being forced into a marriage she detests, Susan intends on seeking refuge with an aunt in London. When they learn the aunt is out of the country, Desmond vows to protect Susan while she masquerades as his mistress. Susan soon finds herself falling in love with her new life--and Desmond.
