"Australians in the Air" is the most comprehensive history yet written on the development of aviation in Australia. The book is replete with photographs and considerable unique information provided to the author by many of the pioneers of Australian flying. Significantly, in the three decades since the book was published, no other, more comprehensive history has been written on the topic. It covers not only the development fo experimental efforts in aviation in Australia, by Lawrence Hargrave and others, but also catalogues the great Australian aviators from the beginnings of the 20th Century, as well as efforts to design and build aircraft in Australia through to the Cold War period.
