The voyage of the Racoon
About this book
During the War of 1812, Great Britain sent the warship Racoon to seize the fur trading post at Astoria but found that the Americans had already sold to the Canadians. Damaged trying to sail out the bar of the Columbia River, the Racoon went to San Francisco for repairs, to Monterey, and then to Hawaii before returning to England.
