Kennedy Library National Archives from 2014 to 2015 ... The objective of this reader is to investigate documents from the Mississippi civil rights movement and from the Kennedy administration that reveal the nature of Mississippi's opposition to bringing racial justice to the state and its African American citizens and to show the extent to which the Kennedy administration's actions were parallel to but not necessarily immediately supportive of what the civil rights movement was attempting to accomplish."--
